You accurately described the smartphone as a weapon - a weapon that can be used to spread half-truths that can (potentially) destroy a person's life. The biggest problem I have with Gen Z is that they bring their politics to work & can't seem to accept that different people have different points of view. They don't yet have the critical thinking skills that would allow them to question their own beliefs - or the beliefs of their peers. If your viewpoint doesn't exactly align with theirs, they use their phones to badmouth you to their "e-friends" online. Those half-truths spread exponentially through social media & you end up with a bad reputation that hangs around like a bad smell - sometimes for years, whether you deserve it or not.
