Any democracy at a large scale cannot work, it is not stable. People will loose personal connection and get ever more dis-informed and make bad decisions. It also means more centralization of power and thus more corruption (aka Interest groups manipulating leaders). In a democracy, many people will always feel betrayed, or at least not represented and toyed with. This is the perfect feeding ground for identity politics and gross human abuse (our era). And eventually civil unrest/possibly war. The better system is anything with more individual freedom. But people are so brainwashed to adore democracy as the holy grail, its just painful to see. Even the most rebellious politicians against the establishment preach democracy, non-stop. It stinks of leftism and socialist rhetoric. Criticism of democracy is typically met with the same vitriol as criticism on race and sex are met. People interpreted it as taking away their control, while in truth democracy is the exact opposite, actually being controlled.
