Not that I really care about Twitter, but it sounds Orwellian when verified becomes unverified. As if suddenly the account is no longer the real person it suggests to be. That makes verified loose all of its meaning and removing the status becomes deliberately misleading people. Depending on the impact of that news, that can most certainly be a crime. Either way, it is a form of identity theft, which is clearly a crime (and not a small one at that). Looks like a nice case for the Supreme Court to work on.
