While true that they got a shitty deal like those before them, that still is no reason to hand out consolation prizes. People need abilities to make a living, just education is not the same as having abilities. And a good work ethic doing nothing productive is also not worth anything. My own experience with late millennials is that they get ** every chance ** and still failed miserably. They thought they already knew it all and better than everyone before them with experience. In the end, they just give up!

As a late Gen X, very recognizable complains against the boomers. In prime time a very closed / protected job markets (in Europe) and a socially oppressive zeitgeist (enforced group think). We were essentially slaving away and economically exploited to serve the boomers and got zero political influence. What boomers always forget is that the world was open to them and they had the voting power to do as they please. Not so for any that came after them, which were essentially enslaved classes! Boomers really did not really love their kids, all the politics they created were for them alone and not their offspring! But when I hear my boomer dad, he always sees his generation as the victim of poverty. Which lasted only a few years really, once they started working the sky was the limit and there was work in spades. They also inherited a cohesive society, so finding a mate and marry was easy too, all you needed was a job. Yet they screwed up in so many levels, its really a pathetic generation in most ways. They got handed the power and just destroyed everything and they rarely care what happens after they are gone.

Yep and its worse than even that. They are so egocentric, they did rob society or let it happen because too busy taking care of "I". If something did not serve or hurt them directly, they paid no attention whatsoever.

That is a bit like my dad, not politically engaged, always working to maximize HIS result. Trying to be amicable with everyone and avoiding to stand up and address injustice. Consequently the policies established during his era are financially sucking him empty now, even while all those working decades he was thinking he was building something up. Many of the boomers got FAR more out of society than they ever put in because they organized to rob the place. They could only do so because the other boomers were too busy making money and try to be every bodies friend to think outside their own bubble. But both these sub-groups had an extreme focus on "I" and the majority of the pain resulting from it is paid by other generations.
