  1. He wants to peg to the dollar, that kind of forces the issue I would say. Is it wise to peg to the dollar, a collapsing currency in itself, maybe not. But a total currency decay takes time and there are advantages to the dollar still, even if just as a quick easily acceptable intermediate.
