They only thing holding back Russia is that they do not want to occupy West Ukraine. So if they stop at some point, are you claiming they can't defeat Ukraine because of that? That would be lying to yourself at the expense of thousands of men dressed up as soldiers. A true crime if there ever was one.

  8. I am amazed by the type of warfare and the relative slow speeds of front-line shifts. Compare to previous wars in recent history. This is almost a WW1 style conflict.

  20. As mines can be deployed using artillery, there is no point in clearing any of it within their range unless it can be done at the same speed as your troops move. And they cannot, so it is an unwinnable situation from the ground. The Russians know this obviously, this is why they use it so much, it is asymmetrical. Low effort to put them down, incredible time consuming to remove them. Only idiot commanders send land based troops to attack the Russians. As they lack a potent air-force or the ability to establish one that can match the Russian air force, they lost he war an are just increasing the body count by not acknowledging this fact.

  33. I have a VERY hard time believing the vehicle and personal numbers, that the Russian on their own ground lost more than the just established and undermanned invaders. Make that make sense when the Russians have artillery and air dominance. It simply does not make ANY sense at all.

And it was the west that turned it into a full scale war and meat-grinder as well as stirring up the conflict to begin with. Trying to stop a genocide of your people that for historic reasons lived in a neighboring country is a VERY VALID reason. And that was not the only valid reason. Were it not for western intervention this conflict would have been over in weeks with very few casualties on both ends. Look where we are now and who lies to us constantly to promote more casualties. In the big picture it is very clear who is good and who is bad in this conflict.

  38. I would expect explosive wires and such to be used to remove the blockades. It certainty would work on the railway beams, but the oil vats filled with concrete is probably resistant to such things. Then again, if they are not well funded, just getting such equipment would be a show stopper. While their opponents are flush with money.
