  1. Those projected savings mean absolutely nothing, it is more complexity and more can/will go wrong. The alternative is to simply build bigger ships and continue as usual. Bigger ships also increase efficiency and reduces emissions per ton transported. Going for more complexity in engineering is, more often than not, the bad direction to go.

  3. As with most "green" stuff, it just moves the problem to somewhere else and are thus fake solutions. Using hydrogen or electricity says nothing about there these come from. Hydrogen in particular requires matter, matter sourced from fossil fuels.

  4.  @monnoo8221  Going for "solutions" that will never be realized at scale is what is dumb. Especially if that halts more immediate improvements because they do not comply with your personal fantasy.

  5. Make a ship bigger and those same or better savings are achieved, no need for more complexity and engineering risks.
