Transportation is very much time-table/contract driven and wind is not always there, even on sea. Really, stop with the these "green" nonsense videos. I am unsubscribing, because as much as I like tech, yes even green tech, this is just getting ridiculous now. We are arrives on the level of nuclear powered food-mixers and what not, it is just absurd.

@comingviking No, it's just common sense. Step outside the hysteria and see things for what they are. The water fortifications the Netherlands did are just pennies of what all the climate alarmism costs. And even works better :)

@comingviking So much nonsense, making everything climate change the cause of every thing you are not used to. Learn some history, read older news articles and you realize it is all bollocks. They are getting away with the scare mongering for just a few reasons. 1) People do not know history as they do not live long in the grand schema of things and live very in the moment. 2) People love to be on 'the right side' of some big cause and berade others (narcistic), while pretending to be one of the good guys (despite evidence). 3) There is a massive amount of political and financial propaganda going on in favor of CC. We cannot open whatever magazine or their subject is somehow related to CC. But somehow a few evil rich dudes are immediately assocated with any and all contrary evidence. Even if that evidence totally disproves the nonsense of the pro CC propaganda. You have been misled, your reasoning does not even pass a smell-test.

@dnomyarnostaw They cannot rely on wind to arrive on time, so it is always a hybrid solution. Which means loss of efficiency and large upfront investments and less cargo per trip = guaranteed les smoney, which migth be partially made up for by saving fuel (if lucky). Not a good deal.

Really, stop with the meat bashing! Cows drink water and then they piss it out. Same for the food they eat when grazing, that food took up water and the cow eats it and then excretes it. What stays in the meat we eat it and excrete it, it is minimal and have very good water efficiency (far better than plant based foods). It is like you want to destroy the world due to some ideology!

So you need energy to heat the mass in order to release the gas, in order to generate energy. This limits its usefulness compared to battery tech quite a lot, at the very least it is not a stand alone energy storage device. And wow, if there is a fire and the mass heats up by accident...then you are sitting on a bomb!

Mark my words, all current insane budgets will be spend on installations that use the traditional tech that is outdated before they are even completed building, because governments want to go faster than is realistic. Then 40-50 or so years are wasted, generations impoverised, wildlife ruined, proving the whole excercise pointless. This is exactly why governments must stay out of the greening of the energy supply. All they do is achieve the opposite and at the peoples and natures expense. The only ones benefiting are the politicians the get kick-backs and their friends that get the money to produce the terror in the sky installations.

Worldwide sea levels aren't rising 2 cm per year, more like 3.6mm per year (average over the last 10 years). So rising seas will not cause planet wide coastal issues for the next 200 years. What some cities have issues with is water use, lowering ground water levels and sinking ground under sities due to heavy buildings. It has literally nothing to do with climate change, but I am sure people will try to square any circle at this point. In the Netherlands, a country with a lot of land under sea level, it won't be any issue at all, we are well protected by our infrastructure. That just shows it's all water and land mismanagement people that are happy to put blames elsewhere.

@PaleGhost69 Oh I understand the reasoning perfectly well, the reasoning behind it just lacks any substance, knowledge and context. Quick example: forrest fires are not caused by warming. They always hapepned and biology even has adapted to it. Very largey fires, typically happen when there is a huge accumulation of very flamable material. This is almost always caused by human policy not to initiate preventive fires, stop any small fire at any cost (intervene in the natural process), nor cleanup dead wood. There are many things parroting alarmists in their ignorance don't get. But it's mostly human insignificance and lacking effort to test the narative with more down to earth practical explantions. This is why it is also called a climate religion or climate cult. These people have gone insane, the world end in X years, now listen to us! It is the oldest con in the book and it still works wonders. Yes the earth warms, but doomsday is not around the corner so stop acting like it is. The amount of damage we do to us and the environment by acting crazy will never be compensated by the insignificantly tiny effect they bring. Hence it is all political/religious, not rational. Time is the great healer, tech evolves and we do not have to try to do in 20 years what will almost costless and effortless happen in 40 years anyway. This makes the alarmists one of the most destructive forces in society today.
