They started calling themselves "Progressive" at the same time their KKK wing was trying to hide John Wilkes Booth from capture, in sync with "Unity Ticket" VP Andrew Johnson took the oath of POTUS in order to shut down Lincoln's Reconstruction programs. But you can go back further to Andrew Jackson's "Trail of Tears" and related scandals. He was their first President. Two decent Presidents from that party were not cultivated by the party itself. Only two. And after all these years the few decent people they had on Congress, all dead now, were just gullible "liberals" that thought big government could actually solve problems rather than just do the "Social Darwin" thing, like Communist regimes do to their captive denizens.

@ShiniGorky187 Even under their own theories they are "fighting oppression" by attacking bogey men. And helping criminals and so forth. They are brining "Progress" though selective pressures and survival of the fittest. This has been their stated theory since Andrew Johnson. They just don't drill down to any of the "root cause" theories they allude to. Like Kammy's "root cause..." of illegal aliens and BLM/ANTIFA criminals. If you know where these people went to school and you know what their word salads allude to (all captured under various Critical Theory rubrics) it's easy to see what they're doing. You'll also find their agenda explicitly covered in the Communist Manifesto, if you dare to read it completely. Climate Change and Trans Agenda are not specified. Destroying "institutions" that protect "Capital" property rights and protect nuclear families (the "root cause" of Capitalism is the nuclear family and the children are the wage slaves that they inherit capital so that they can go on to exploit all the workers of the world as well).

@Wendeta-hq2cp Magic Word Theory. Even if Trump's "conviction" was legitimate, it was by definition a civil violation of accounting rules. The actual act discussed at the trial was allegedly an accounting violation. And even the 34 counts thing is charging for phone calls, separate documents and or signatures (from Trump's accountants) and so forth. And even if this was legitimately a criminal case, it is not a felony by definition because it's not punishable by prison sentence. What they did is allege accounting malfeasance and then claim it was in furtherance of some mystical crime that they could not state. The jury was allowed to contemplate categories of crimes and the jury didn't even have to degree on a single category of crimes. If you believe he could have done this accounting thing to hide some kind of crime within the jury's imagination, they could vote for conviction. The judge and prosecutors are the obvious felonious conspirators under Deprivation of Rights Under the Color of Law and Conspiracy Against Rights. This is nakedly about power to control the Presidency and the criminal courts through control of the judges and who is allowed to be targeted. Just like Stalin pulled off. And Mao. And Hitler, etc. The difference is that instead of a cult of personality that lasts until the death of Dear Leader these people worship the soviet "experts" cult in DC that was established by FDR. And grown like the deadliest cancer mankind has ever heard of.
