  1. It's not really tribalism. It's Political Identity activism where "communities" follow "the vanguard party" as a coalition for Social Justice. It's Critical Theory Marxism and one of the many dogmas is that if you disagree you have cognitive dissonance or what Marxists originally called "false class consciousness". The original class war BS failed to bring for the Final (Utopian Marxist) Revolution. The "sciences" referenced are psychology and dogmatic Darwinism. The US Democrats used "labor organizing" doctrines to pivot after losing their slaves. They called it "Progressivism". It didn't take long for them to try to reengineer society in accordance with the Utopian doctrines of Marx. What they liked was the obvious "common sense" need for a totalitarian government to purify humanity through various means. Truman and JFK were the only two Democrat Party Presidents that did not follow/support Marxist doctrines, though they never supported the idea of a worker's revolution like Marx called for.
