That solo sounds like Waddy Wachtel. In live performances Cross hits some of the licks but it's not really the same. But it's also true that it's much easier in the studio taking your favorite segments and the "printing" that while also not having to worry about the lead vocals. Still...I think he had at least some help on the studio tracks. The studio version is definitely among the best. The mix masters didn't want to distract from the "meat" of the vocals that Cross is really known for.
