@V123es They boxed themselves in because they were counting on unchallenged single party rule forever once Obama handed the baton to Hillary. Biden was a controllable puppet and everyone knew this. The goal was always single party rule and the idea is that since FDR died it is the "Brain Trusts" (now referred to as the Administrative State or Deep State) that run DC and the world, in coalition with other leftwing regime bureaucrats.
