  2. @ Your claim confuses me. NATO Article 5 was invoked with respect to Afghanistan as that is where they had believed OBL and at least some elements of "The Base" were operating. The war in Iraq was taken up after UN petitions and UN Security Council Resolutions. Ukraine did not go to Afghanistan in 2001, I'm pretty sure. Why conflate the UN consensus with NATO?

  3. @ Nobody said we want to abandon NATO for any reason other than it has outlived its purpose for over 30 years. And on top of all of that the EU members have their own rival agenda and want to have it any which way they can based on political wind and weather conditions. Just as it makes sense for small countries in Europe to band together for the EU, it makes sense for them to have their own defense pact/treaty. There's no reason for the US to be involved in the EU's economic cartel and for the exact same reason there is no good reason to pretend that NATO's has been outmoded since the CCP displaced the Soviet Union as The Threat to the world. And the EU loves the CCP and its authoritarian style of governance. The USA is no longer a good fit with Euroloon nations still stuck in "The Great Game" with Russia during the Clash of Empires epoch. If you guys like Communism and want to play stupid games with Russia that's on you. Invite Ukraine to join the EU and make sure the the European NATO members shift their resources to EU control. Problem solved. Then Russia will have to listen to you authoritarian leftist lunatics.

  5. Since when have we been able to trust any NATO ally? How about never. Trust but verify. For Communists and duplicitous "friends" alike. Like we need their special intel. Yellow Cake, anyone? They're all corrupt. Even our own. This agitprop is nothing more than that. Trying to put Trump on his back foot with respect to negotiating with everyone that still needs to get whipped in to shape. How many of these clown regimes have every kept up their NATO commitments?

And NATO should have been dissolved when the Soviet Union dissolved itself. A new group could have replaced it with an updated objective. But instead the leftwing politicians everywhere went crazy.
