  1. The problem is that Chinese Communists don't even recognize human development as an individual thing. They believe in central plans, compliance, and historical materialism, which means that when the central plan delivers great enough GDP that will give them enough power. If they don't decide to "defend" the "international workers" in ever larger spheres along the way by abusing more and more workers in the name of Social Justice.
