  1. FDR entered in to a broad security deal (presumably to protect the oil commerce) with Saudi Arabia just as WWII was winding down (and shortly before he died). As Truman came in and discovered what Stalin had been up to the last thing anyone in power in the US or Europe was worried about was Saudi Arabia being unnworthy of security protection given we also began to occupy Germany, Japan, and later North Korea and so forth. And in the long war the Saudis are still a positive partner against Communism and Shia theocratic imperialism.

You don't really understand how the world works and what the choices are. It's not like Congress is debating Green New Deal versus Saudi-style autocracy for the US Federal government. The changes suggested by the "cut them off" crowd would make everything worse. Come up with a realistic policy suggestion and your reasoning for why you think it's better than the status quo. That's how it works. Only a deluded lunatic would suggest that we should cut off Saudi Arabia to save our reputation. That's laughable. FDR was a fool. That doesn't mean you just respond in knee jerk fashion like the Biden cult to reverse everything done by the guy you don't like your stop supporting an ally because you can demonize them compared to some Utopian standard that is not on the menu of choices.
