@obijuan3004 A Constitutional republic that has embedded voting rights can be characterized as "democratic" in that sense. It's not "a democracy" that we're talking about. Especially given that people using the "democracy" reference always include their own special meaning to what "democratic" levers are legitimate and what are allegedly illegitimate. Why would you defend such a stupid, mendacious label just because the US happens to have "democratic levers"? I don't even think you know what "constitutional republic" means. Because pretty much every freaking modern state can claim to have "a constitution" and be "republican" as well as "democratic". These terms mean nothing clear anymore thanks to you double-talking lunatics. I can see by this and at least one other comment from you that you're, at best, a Dunning Kruger "special" Unskilled and Unaware victim of our "socialized" academies. IOW, we know that critical thinking is "racist" and "oppressive" and so forth. We all got the memos.

@norseman5041 These fools don't understand why they're taught these word games. It's so they can destroy any coherent lexicon that clearly and quickly exposes what liars they are. Look at two of their favorite new buzzwords: Equity and Inclusion. If you're against Equity and or Inclusion, you're obviously a racist and totally destroying Our Democracy or Our Democratic Norms. Now think of Mrs. "Word Salad" Harris. All she does is torture the public with your new buzzwords in heavy rotation, in tiny logic circles, so that you can't argue that she's "wrong" because she didn't really say anything. Nobody can be against "equity" because it just means justice. Just like nobody can be against Social Justice because it's just "justice for everyone". But these are collectivists and when they give you examples of "lack of equity" (or "social injustice") they're using contrived "class war" paradigms and trying to make all of the Animal Farm species equal, just as Orwell warned all of us so many years ago. It's also why they like to use terms like "democracy" because they can invent the meaning and standards as they go. If you refer to the USA as a Constitutional republic then people are instantly going to recognize that US law is supposed to be framed by the freaking written constitution, so why is this "our democracy" cult so bad at reading ordinary English?

@michaelme1188 LOL. These Federal lands are usually known as "parks" and the oil leases allow for extraction and then require the lessees to restore the lands after they finish. They were set aside as "nature reserves".
