@walterpierce6061 Even if you count the first colonial slaves it's still less than 300 years. And those first colonial slaves were mostly indentured servants. The country was created in the late 18th century. The only authority that could have outlawed slavery for the colonies as a consolidated political entity was the British Parliament. The entire "racial preferences" things is not about equal application of the law even even Utopian equality. It's about being in control of the Central Plan and who can dictate which group will give to the other group. It's pretty much the same instinct that makes people want to become Premieres in Communist regimes.
