For them to look after their own people they either need to help Taiwan and other Pacific trade partners or stop all trade with Asian nations. You can't have it both ways. You can't say that they should shut down manufacturing and buy critical goods from China and make sure never to bother showing up to protect trade routes. And this "doormat for US" bullshit is just about the dumbest thing anyone can say. Name one thing the US has ever taken from Europe or anywhere else that it didn't overpay for. Just one.
