  8. And I'm not a prosecutor, but I can tell you quite easily...you DO NOT prosecute to send a message. You prosecute according to the laws on the books, and the punishment must be administered in a way that is not undue or cruel. Part of that measure is determining how similar cases have been sentenced. All other things being equal, you are not supposed to let one person off, and make an example of another to send a message...YOU AREN'T THE FUCKIN MAFIA. So YES. Maybe he technically could get up to 100+ years in jail. If other cases similar to this have been sentenced with a hefty fine and a few months in jail, than that's how this would go. If it's been settled with a hefty fine and a warning not to do it again lest you be given much harsher punishment next time...than he will go free.

  9. I say this from experience. I've got a friend who owned a car dealership and he ended up mismanaging it, robbing peter to pay paul kinda thing, and ended up with 8 low grade felony charges and one count of theft. TECHNICALLY he was facing up to 30 years in prison, as it was possibly x number of years for each charge. HOWEVER, no case before that had ever been punished that severely, and he didn't have priors, so he was sentenced to 5 years probation and restitution. So SURE the charges could add up to 135 years in prison...but if you think for one second that they will sentence a man for possible illicit spending at the same number of years as someone like Larry Nasar for molesting countless young girls for decades...you are insane. He won't get jail time for this short of some insane political stunt (and that would hugely backfire anyway).

It's not enough to simply disagree anymore, you MUST be an actual activist or you are more or less agreeing with the things you say you don't agree with. He was actually deemed to be medically sane despite his actions. But he DID have other obvious mental health issues. BECUAUSE!!! No mentally healthy person does these things.
