  2. Would it be very painful if we default? Yes. Would it cost a lot of people a LOT of money and jobs? Also yes. Will that MAYBE finally put in perspective the reality of endlessly running up the credit card with uncontrolled spending by the government? YES. Never again would the government be able to so flippantly spend trillions of dollars without the American people going "WOAHHHHH WAIT WAIT WAIT NOW..." So, bad as it may hurt...I say allow it to default.
