  1. As a Christian, I can attest to a lot of flat earth stuff coming from science seeming to disagree with scripture. The bible says one thing about how the universe came to be and how the earth formed, and science has objectively determined another thing. So, instead of Christians concluding that perhaps the creation account being hyperbolic and poetic rather than a literal historical account...they opt to simply ignore hard scientific evidence, call it evil, and lean in to a literal interpretation of scripture. The thing that gets me is that these same folks have no issue admitting the practice of tithing no longer means growing crops and raising cattle and offering a portion at the store house...but instead offering the first 10% of your monetary income...because that concept, for them, IS kept in historical concept. But they fail to consider that people in that same society had a different view of the world and it's creation.

  2. Always funny how the concept of scale COMPLETELY ceases to exist with these folks. They pay NO mind to the reality of a tiny little airplane flying around on a MASSIVE planet by comparison. Yes, if you were flying on an airplane 75-80% the size of the earth...yes, you may feel them tilting down at all times. But since you are on an airplane that is a fraction of a fraction of a 1 percent the size of the earth...ya don't...

  5. At it's core, at the core of really every conspiracy theory, is someone who does not like having their long held world view challenged and changed. Thus, they dig their feet in and call everyone else a liar.
