@rwags6848 "Heart disease results from an individuals lifestyle choice, over decades.
With Covid, that choice is taken away from me, by the likes of you.
As I said... no comparison."
For one, a LOT of heart disease is hereditary, so in a sense, the choice is taken from those people too.
For another, just to be clear, you 75 million people die on one hand and think "Meh, their choice", and see 5 million die on the other hand and feel it proper to shut the entire globe down?

@omfug7148 Literally none of those details matter. The laptop is the laptop. The crimes on it, are what matters here.
If you happen to come across a laptop, hack your way in, and discover evidence of murder, child porn, or some other major crime...no one is gonna go out of their way to criticize you for going in to a lap top that wasn't yours in the first place. They are gonna be concerned with the fact that there's strong evidence of major crimes on the laptop.
Same here. I don't give a shit if the person who had the lap top was a blind Trump supporter, a one legged Bernie supporter, or a fuckin armless Obama fan. And in the context of the laptop contents, I don't even give a shit if it was stolen. That crime, if proven, can be handled on the side. The evidence of the lap top still 100% matters, and no crime that may have been committed to obtain it changes it.
Seems that's your argument though. The means by which it was obtained seems to taint the legitimacy of the actual laptop itself in your eyes.
With that, if a Trump supporter happened across the Epstein flight log, are you saying you would automatically doubt it's legitimacy merely by way of the political party of the person who obtained it?

There's very little to go on here. For one, I appreciate your service. First and foremost.
Am I supposed to gather that this lady randomly walked up to you, assumed you refer to yourself that way with no foreknowledge, and make this response? Also, I don't think white folks are the only ones that categorize Americans. The left has coined thousands of labels over the past few decades. BIPOC, POC, LGBTQAI+, IPOC, Non binary, cis gendered, Latin X, etc, etc, etc...There's a label for everyone who want's special recognition on the left. I am ecstatic, as an avid conservative, to view you as an American and nothing more. I think all the other labels only serve to separate you from me ultimately.

@Phuc Hong Best thing anyone can do, and folks like Steven Crowder always HIGHLY recommend it with his material and that of the left...look at a story on CNN, AND on Fox News...and assume the truth lies in the middle. Same with all stories and ideas being presented from either perspective. One will present it from one slant, the other from the other slant, the truth is gonna be the middle ground between the two.
Take Jan 6th...CNN would have you believe the American version of ISIS was on the verge of murdering all of Congress and raising a new flag over the white house, right leaning sources (though Fox News will certainly say it was bad) will pretend nothing inappropriate happened at all.
The truth? A group of unarmed but upset people walked in to the capital. Most of which simply took selfies and had a good time, others tried stealing some stuff. None of it was a real good idea, and shouldn't have happened. The middle ground of each presentation of the event is undoubtedly the truth about what happened.
I personally believe, given FBI involvement in other things, the FBI could have certainly had some undercover folks there to spark it with the intention of it being far more violent, but it just wasn't violent ultimately.

@janetkelly5118 " in this particular election Democrats losing the majority IS a threat to our democracy."
You do realize this has been the line for years and years and years right? This election will be, the two previous ones were, the two after this one will be...that's the point. To KEEP you in this mindset that UNLESS you vote for them at ALL times NO MATTER WHAT...the world will end. You need to understand that that is just a lie. What this does is ensure your support without ever having to really earn it. Because they can rest assure you will be a faithful vote...so "democracy doesn't die". I hate to relate it to a cult, but it's true. Cults tell you the world (see Democracy) is at a constant threat of ending, and the only way to escape that threat is to be on their side (i.e. vote for them). It's just not true. You can vote however you like, just understand they are emotionally chaining you to their registry by using that language. Making you afraid to ever vote anything but blue.
Don't believe me? Mark it here. This midterm will be the time Democrats can ensure democracy is protected. Then in 2024, that election will be the one to ensure democracy is protected. If (when) Democrats lose, Democracy will be in peril, and in 2026, you will be told to vote Democrat again to do what? Ensure Democracy is protected again. I'll place $1000 on it here and now. And should you allow it to continue happening, you will hear this message 20 years from now when multiple Republican presidents have yet to destroy democracy.

@brandon7233 If you think Biden had any hand in stopping COVID, you are delirious. COVID stopped COVID. Ran it's course through American society, everyone got it, got vaxxed, got the antibodies, or both. As we know, the vaccine did ZERO to stop the spread. It only served to lessen severity in the same way antibodies do. Biden did NOT get us out of COVID in any way. If ANYTHING, the approval polls go us out of it. Also, I will not give him credit for the government forcing the economy to a screeching halt, and then allowing it to open up again. Any president in office would have experienced that GDP as a natural occurrence of everything being allowed to open up. You don't get to force 6 million people out of their jobs one day, allow those 6 million people to go back to work the next day, and claim you created 6 million jobs. Doesn't work like that.
ALLLLLL that being said, in regards to you thinking I'm biased by conservative media, there is PLENTY to criticize Trump about. He's an asshole. He doesn't listen to anyone trying to advise him, and it hurts far more often that it helps him...and thus us when he was in office. That being said, there's a REASON Putin attacked Ukraine when Biden was VP and Obama POTUS...paused when Trump took over...and immediately resumed when Biden took office again. Simple logic explains why. As the left happily declared, Trump was a bombastic, unpredictable, asshole. I happen to agree with that. If you are Putin, looking at Trump, you have to assume you are VERY likely to have a nuke pop in your backyard if you mess up.
Biden is the poster child for weakness. You can't deny that. Speech impediment aside, he is an feeble, frail looking, soon to be 80 year old man. That spells weakness. No one is afraid when they see an 80 year old man. ADD the clear cognitive decline and speech impediment on top of it, and it's a perfect recipe of weakness. And then you look to the right of Biden and see Kamala Harris, and you watch as she clearly has no idea about anything when she speaks. You have your green light to do what you want with your own military.

@GEOMETRICINK To an extent, that is not a factually untrue statement. It's called a calculated risk. Take driving for instance. You getting behind the wheel inevitably puts someone at risk. The moment you start moving, you risk dying or killing someone. We drive anyway, despite that risk, because the cost of not doing so outweighs the risk. We each decide it is worth putting someone elses life at risk, albeit a small risk, in order to get to work, the store, etc. Same with this virus. it's not going anywhere ever. So, as a society, we must decide. Do we hide from it forever, and keep everyone locked inside until that are on jab number 57, and continue to hinder the country as a whole, so we don't put a small subset of the population at any risk? Or, for the cause of keeping our country functioning properly, decide we have to take the risk that some people will get the virus and die? It certainly sounds cold, and it actually is, but it's a decision we all make. No different than deciding the risk of taking my life with your car is worth taking in order to get to work in the morning. And I wouldn't consider you evil or vile for taking that risk. You have to in order to ensure the survival of your own family. No one can fault you for that. As for the vaccine, I'm not getting simply because I will not play a game of getting a shot every 6 months for the rest of my life when I will get the virus anyways. That's what my immune system is for.

@ursaltydog You need only look at the past several elections though to see that a new virus tends to pop up around each election cycle. I'm not making it political, but when it's an average of every for years during the political season...you have to ask why. We had SARS in 2003/2004, that was an election cycle. Four years later we had Swine flu start out in 2008, and land in the US in 2009, that was an election cycle. 4 years later, we had ebola in 2013/2014. Four years after that.....Covid. Each of these making big impacts on presidential races, most of all Trumps as we saw one side blame every heart that stopped beating on Trump, but not a single one that's stopped beating under Biden has been attributed to Biden directly. I don't think either of them are solely to blame personally, but if one is going to directly blame one president for it, and the deaths continue under the next, that president becomes responsible for those deaths.

@ecurewitz And again, lets treat any other virus or disease like we do COVID and see how people react. If we plastered all over CNN and MSNBC 75,000 dead Americans every single month from heart disease, and made every single viewer acutely aware of every single heart that stopped beating due to heart disease daily....the reaction would be the same. People would become hysterical about their health, flood the hospitals to get tested for it, overwhelm the system, buy up all the veggies, fruits, and TP.
What if the government reacted the same? Mandated everyone throw out the bad food and eat only veggies, and go out and exercise? Shut down school lunches nationwide, shut down any junk food at the border, ban any consumption of unhealthy food in public....etc.
