  1. We used to run eleven Magnox nuclear reactors. Had we maintained that number and upgraded them to Sizewell B PWRs (or equivalent) we would have the capacity to generate around 13.1GWe. That equates to 45% of the UKs average demand in 2020. Renewables provided another 27% with imports and other non-fossil sources at a little under 5%. I would much rather we were looking at reducing our fossil fuel dependence from 25% than the current 39%.
