@ Diseases evolving in Asia are different from those evolving in Europe, or Africa, or S America. That was not a problem until recently because there was less travel between continents. Only rich countries have the capacity to monitor diseases in all continents, but we can all die from them. WHO should be a non political talking shop for leading experts from each country to formulate and disperse knowledge and advice on new diseases and treatments.

Completely disagree, listen to what he said. The organisation needs to be reformed to become a true centre of excellence on infectious diseases. Pull together expertise from all around the world so that it CAN give reliable advice on potential epidemics and pandemics.

@LynnMarie-v2f So each country spends a fortune looking at diseases on every continent and developing their own procedures rather than pooling information. Sensible!
