@tassied12 Plenty of new build nuclear in the offing. France has finally ended its flirtation with the greens and is serious about nuclear again.

@savagegfry Specialist reactor. Early reactors were in the 30MW range, but they were not SMR's. What needs to be built now are reactors in the 1-1.5GW range. That technology is mature and more easily licensed. Licenses are key.

@rattusfinkus Given that you should have started years ago, the plan must be to start nuclear as soon as possible. At the same time, invest in renewables to reduce fossil fuel use in the short term, especially coal. The more nuclear you have, the more viable RE/Storage becomes.

@tassied12 But you don't have RE/storage. You have a few MWh but you need giga or tera watt hours. If you figure 20 years for nuclear (your figures) your early RE will be ready for the scrap heap anyway.
