  7.  @leiaorgana5098  SMR's, whether thorium based or not, should work out cheaper. Conventional reactors have large reactor vessels that are almost one-offs and only available from a few manufacturers worldwide. The aim of SMRs is to introduce production line efficiencies. I doubt that will ever be achieved, but they should yield significant reductions.
