@haruchai Waste: Reprocess to only fission products, then deep burial in mines or preferably boreholes. Accidents: Fukushima might have had some local environmental impact but no one died as a result (one worker may have died from secondary cancer, though this is not proven). A modern design would not have suffered the same failure under those conditions. Nuclear remains one of the safest forms of energy production.

While I am a supporter of nuclear energy and agree with lifting the ban, it is wrong to claim that use of nuclear energy is the only way to achieve net zero "anywhere in the world." Countries with access to plentiful hydro and/or geothermal do not "need" nuclear in the mix. Look at Iceland, Norway and parts of Sweden for example.

@AximandTheCursed As I say, I support lifting the ban. I merely pointed out that the presenter's remark was factually incorrect.

@JetS_Gamer I totally agree. It's not helpful however if presenters make incorrect statements. Hopefully he will choose his words with more care next time.
