@filmserve As do Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and N Korea (and likely soon Iran). At no point since WWW2 have Western leaders shown any desire or intent to use them other than as a response to a nuclear attack. It's not nukes in the hands of the West that we have to fear.

@filmserve I own the DVD of Dr Strangelove 😉 There is always a risk of a miscalculation (Though not the way shown in the movie) but Putin is the first leader of a major nuclear power who gives me real concerns. Even Khrushchev and Kennedy were sufficiently responsible to back away from the potential nightmare of nuclear war. What really worries me is a combination of nuclear weapons and religious zealots, that would truly be a frightening prospect.

@filmserve You haven't seen all the movies in my collection 🤣 True we don't have the best crop of politicians at present, but I don't believe any are so bad that they would not try to do all in their power to nuclear conflict. Maybe I am just too trusting?

@MrThorfan64 US politics (on both sides) will not improve as long as presidential candidates need to raise vast sums of money to run for office.

How do you think your "Deep state" influences Presidents, could it be money? Perhaps you think the "Deep state" give out of a sense of philanthropy towards their fellow citizens?

@gherieg.1091 I don't claim to know everything, just that everyone accuses those they disagree with of being the "deep state." Just like everyone right of centre is "Far right" and everyone left of centre is "Far left." It's all BS.
