  2.  Brett Mitchell  Only four of those ships are actually RN vessels. Let's say they were; three T45s and three T23s. A T45 has 48 VLS tubes and CAN carry 8 obsolete Harpoons (neither of the ships in the current deployment has them, though one has provision to). A T23 has one 32 cell VLS for self defence Sea Ceptor only. A US CSG has between three and five support ships comprising 1-2 Cruisers and 2-3 destroyers. The Ticonderoga cruiser carries 2 61-cell VLS launchers plus eight Harpoon. An Arleigh-Burke destroyer has either a 90 or 96 cell VLS system and may carry two Harpoon. Fully kitted a UK CSG would field 48 Harpoon (doubtful we still have that many launchers), 144 full VLS tubes and 96 self-defence VLS tubes. The smallest US CSG could field 12 Harpoon and 300 full VLS tubes. That's without factoring in the carriers, where a US CSG has E2-C Hawkeye AEW aircraft and does not rely on helicopter to spot incoming threats!
