  1.  @billycaspersghost7528  You really do live in the past. The UK wouldn't give two hoots if ROI decided to purchase the F35, let alone a few F16s to defend its airspace. You are an independent country, you have every right to defend yourselves. We have moved on, you should too.

  2. The trouble with F18s is that they will likely have to be new. There are few examples available on the second hand market and they are mostly old and have low residual airframe life. Old USN examples exist, but carrier life takes a massive toll on airframes.
