@henkjan673 USG can ban services provided by DeepSeek, but they can't ban the source code because it is considered free speech. This has been tested in court, so there is precedent and it's almost impossible to have precedent overturned on first amendment issues...🤣

DeepSeek is not going anywhere since it's open source. USG already tried this with PGP years ago, and it didn't work out too well for them...:text-green-game-over:

@ZweiZwolf An application was never tested in a court of law as an issue of national security. However source code as free speech has been tested in a court of law against the US government argument of national security and the US government lost (Bernstein v. United States).
