  1.  @hanzohattori9576  US became an empire in 1900 when they simultaneously seized the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Cuba from the Spanish and metastasized into a global superpower in 1946. By that metric the empire is 124 years old, which I agree is extremely fast for its decline.
