No country is going to create supply chains specifically for the US because the investment required is too great, the returns are too low, and the rest of the world can buy from China at the lowest possible price. Therefore Chinese made intermediate goods shipped to third party countries for final assembly and export to the US is going to be the new normal since it offers the highest return with the least amount of capital needed.
