@swiftmovers3827 India will not be the next major player due to lack of infrastructure and the majority of the population working in the informal sector. Foreign companies are not going to invest without a competent workforce, reasonable infrastructure, and inclusive government policies.

@swiftmovers3827 China has economies of scale, mature and extensive supply chains, advanced infrastructure, inclusive government policies, and an educated workforce. India won't be able to replicate this any time soon.

@swiftmovers3827 Apple through Foxconn closed their production in India because of 50% iPhone rejection rates. Foxconn also pulled out of a 19.5 billion joint venture deal with India's Vendanta. Others will follow suit because the business environment in the Indian market is not as profitable as in China.

At this rate it will take 100 years to shift manufacturing if it ever occurs. China has 35% of the world's manufacturing capability while India is at 2.6%, it's not even comparable.
