  1. These tariffs signal that the US has already lost. No amount of money is going to bring these industries to the US. It was already tried with solar panels, remember Solyndra, and the result was even less market share for US manufacturers.   3. China will have a captive market selling all their low cost and advanced NEVs to the rest of the world minus the US and half of Europe. China will also sell all the infrastructure and renewable power generation needed to go with those NEVs. China gets to set NEV global standards, increase the use of renewable energy worldwide, reduce the emissions of green house gases, and make a boatload of cash while saving the planet from climate change...🤣
