Here's my hunch. I think Jen was probably just like her children as a child and with one parent like herself and the other like her husband, we just don't know which was actually which. But just the same I think she looks back on it and feels ashamed and embarrassed about being that way. I understand that feeling, because there certain ways I behaved and actions I committed as a child that I wish I could just travel back and undo, but I never had an offspring to take it out on because they do the same things, rubbing my feelings of regret and embarrassment in. She probably kicks herself for those things and basically sees herself when her kids do them so it's as if she's traveled back in time just to slap and hit her younger self.🤷♂ (I suspect the same thing in the 1979 TV movie "When She Was Bad." Whoever watches it will catch my drift.)

If that part is real and not made up, which I doubt, it probably just means they don't want to be one of those "cowering pussies."

I don't even have kids but even if I did I would sooner create a family vlog channel if they were okay with it which some kids are because they enjoy performing on camera than put them on this horrible show just to shame them worldwide. In other words I find this show to be more exploitative because this is used to point out your children's faults to the world rather than their virtues. Wife Swap is the same way and Toddlers & Tiaras is just disgustingly abusive with or without a reality show.🤢
