Sade was the main antagonist and Gaby called her weird AND useless for trying to plan a surprise to make the others happy. I'll bet you anything if the two who'd left had been Sade and Gaby instead of Sherry and Nicki, they would have all gotten along much better. Sade was behind most of the friction going on in that house because she'd deliberately start annoying the other girls in the middle of the night who'd chosen to go to bed earlier than she had by stealing their sheets, and yes, they all had the privilege of picking their own bedtimes, but none of them had the right to infringe on another's right to sleep. She'd start all kinds of dysfunction, and if someone called her on it she'd lock herself in the bathroom and act like the victim. She basically wasn't happy unless she was annoying someone! If anything, I think the rest of them accidentally began taking out their annoyance at her on each other. Even the nice ones can't be perfect, especially with a manipulative bully like Sade around.

If you're talking about a person having been useless in a specific situation, meaning the person knew and did nothing to help, that's a whole other thing. But to just call a person a useless person, like it's just a fact, no different than stating the color of one's eyes, is just utterly cruel, especially if the person had just tried to make everyone happy.

You’ll notice neither Sade nor Gaby tried to stop her from leaving. There’s no scenes here with any evidence implicating anyone except Sade or Gaby in being mean to Sherry.

And besides, I honestly think she wanted to and even planned to join in on the fun and the extra privilege, but like I've commented before, I think hearing Gaby call her useless broke her spirit and made her lose her zest for the whole experience. It may not seem like much, but words are very powerful. I don't think she was trying to be an adult, just to take some responsibility. Remember, girls are faster to mature than boys are. In other words, I think that's just her with or without cameras, and I applaud her.

That was when Gaby called her useless, but you must be okay with that. You must be okay with bullying. (That's among the things my dad would sometimes scold our dog for doing back in the mid 2000's, biting on the vacuum cleaner bag while he was using it.) And if you talk about being useless in a particular situation because you just stood by and did nothing to help when it was clearly needed, also different. That would describe Kevin Franke in my opinion, Ruby's ex-husband of the former 8 Passengers YouTube channel. According to the oldest of their children, there were acts of abuse coming from Ruby while the channel was still up and she and Kevin were still together. Maybe it wasn't until they separated and he moved out that the duct tape stuff between Ruby and Jodi Hildebrandt started, but according to the oldest, who left the channel early, there were things going on that she was around for, so clearly Kevin was around for those things, too. His lawyer tries to say he was "manipulated" and that "he had no reason to believe that his kids were being abused," but I think that's poppycock. There was an incident he teamed her on, and he is apparently still defending her, which tells me he just let the other ominous things happen because he didn't think his kids deserved any better. After he moved out he didn't even bother to check on his kids in any way or ask the police to check. That's just as bad, maybe worse. What I'm getting at is that he was useless in this situation because he did not protect his abused kids. But there was no justification for Gaby to call Sherry a useless person, especially when she cooked the first meal for everyone and then tried to make everyone happy by trying to surprise them. She deserved better, and at least she wasn't a bully like Sade.

I honestly believe she did originally want to have fun with the others, but also wanted to keep the place clean to prevent cockroaches. I think it was when Gaby called her useless after she had cooked for everyone and at the time was trying to plan a surprise for everyone, which by the way, also shows ungratefulness, that that changed, considering that such cruel words would have the power to ruin any zest for this experience that one has, and Sade was the antagonist of the house which is why those are the only two I suspect to be spoiled.

  56. It’s true, Sherry was a sweetheart, and Sade and Gabrielle were ungrateful meanies, undoubtedly her two arch nemeses. As for the other seven, I’m just going to be blunt. They were much more innocent in this than Kevin Franke was or even is now, in the 8 Passengers scandal. You see, not only is he an adult whose mind should be all the way developed, but he’s a father, too! When you have kids, it’s both parents’ responsibilities to make sure they are safe, not just one. In this capacity, Sade and Gaby may be Ruby and Jodi and Sherry is probably closest to being Russell or Eve, but unlike Kevin, the other seven girls are minor children whose minds aren’t all the way developed, so it’s believable that they meant well considered they didn’t just terrorize everyone or call Sherry useless, that was Gaby, and I think it was that that made Sherry decide to avoid the others, as long as she and/or Sade were still there anyway. But if you pay attention you’ll notice that the group of girls begging her not to leave and hugging her before she did didn’t include either one of them. Connecting the dots. They even comforted her when she was upset on two occasions, so even though their words may have been mistakable otherwise, don’t accuse them of pretending to care about her or only using her, they are still young children with minds that had developing yet to do, they didn’t have the same maturity level that Sherry had, but just imagine boys of the same age, if any were that young in the boys one, LOL! But at least they weren’t spiteful like S and G. Now there is a thing called kids being kids and just having fun. I know because I was a kid once. Plus this was five days of freedom. Now just because they used it, that makes them monsters, animals or savages? (We’re all animals actually.) I agree that Sade was a savage monster, and what Gaby said to Sherry was very cruel. The others contradicted her words, and maybe they could have tried harder in making Sherry feel better, but they were still young and had growing yet to do. Now Kevin on the other hand, should have the maturity of a parent, and the fact that he probably never called after he and Ruby split up to check, and now that he knows what happened he didn’t act the least bit upset, he never asked if they were okay, and he still tried to defend Ruby even after he knew what she and Jodi did to Russell and Eve. Plus he supported Ruby’s action of not only refusing to bring Eve’s lunch to school for her when she forgot it, but telling the teacher who called not to let any of the other kids share with her, to let her go hungry as a lesson. He’s the one, I understand, who said she never forgot it again after that. But mainly I think what makes it the hardest to implicate him is the fact that he moved out months prior to the termination and the arrest. But deep down I believe he still failed his kids, turned on them, did them dirty.

  69. Over all, I thought these videos were fun and interesting to watch when I came across them. I wonder at times what it would have been like to have the same experience when I was a kid. (A boy, in my case.) I didn't exactly analyze every detail of what went on, nor pass judgment. But I knew part of this was having a little more privilege as long as nobody's safety was being threatened. The important thing was everyone survived the experiment.

They tried to comfort Sherry both times she was upset, and they could have done more and taken better approaches at convincing her to stay, but I don’t think they were mean to her like Sade and Gaby were. Remember, they were young, too, and didn’t have a fully-developed brain yet, and while that may excuse an honest mistake of accidentally taking the wrong verbal approaches at times, it doesn’t excuse deliberate cruelty, like calling someone useless or mocking someone while at the same saying things about the someone that aren’t even true, like the way Sade was talking about her upstairs while she was making dinner. I guess what I’m getting at is that I don’t believe that the girl who begged her to stay because she was the one who cooked meant to say that that was all she was good for, and unless the girl was Gaby or Sade, I think she knew deep down how awesome Sherry was, actions speak louder than words do, but like I said, with a still-underdeveloped brain, even if or when your intentions are good, there’s still a possibility you might not do as well as you mean. You’ll notice Sade didn’t try to get her to stay, and I don’t know about Gaby, but she’s the one who called her useless.

Now Sade was the total opposite, the house bully, and Gaby was the one who called her useless, no one else, but the others told her Gaby was wrong, plus there were many things skipped for the sake of time so we’re left only to guess and speculate many specific details. There’s no evidence anywhere that confirms that anyone except Sade and Gabrielle were actually mean to Sherry and there are all sorts of possible truths that we can’t rule out altogether for what happens during time skips. Unlike many users on this site I am not so quick to assume the worst. But yes, Sade’s terror and Gaby’s cruel words naturally would have been enough to make Sherry want to leave, and while many still supported her, that just didn’t do it. I think it’s only if S and G had left, her two arch nemeses, that there would have been a chance that she would have been prompted to stay.
