I think tanks are about to become airlifted drones with recoiless rifle turrets. That main gun offers some unique capabilities but tanks are a heavy logistical burden to have in a battlefield where the action could happen at a split second. Same could be said about APCs. Offense is about to become the best defense due to surveillance. Just some especulation on my part. In other words, I think war is about to be defined by how many and how fast you can deploy your guns to the action.
