You can use a recoiless gun to handle recoil, but weight would still be a issue

@glenmcgillivray4707 I am aware, but I am also aware that that's actually something the US has been playing with in the recent past, raven guns.

@gimmethegepgun raven guns are not quite like recoiless guns, gasses are only vented once the projectile has partially traveled the barrel. You don't lose nearly as much muzzle velocity that way.
