Phoebe Smith this is probably the truth, a f-35 is heavier, only has one thruster even if a powerful one, no thrust-vectoring and no canards. That said, it probably wasnt built with that in mind, specially considering how expensive it is.

You should consider doing a video on the turboprop light attack aircraft, they ditch the resistance and the firepower of the a-10 for basically everything else. They are substantially cheaper and easier to operate, have significantly better fuel efficiency and have the capability to use improvised airstrips. It may not look like much but it means that a light attack aircraft can be anywhere you need and for much longer time. And they don't miss as much survivability as one may think, because the turboprop engine is quieter it makes it a bit harder to spot by noise alone. It is also cooler, though I don't know how much it would affect its performance against heat seeking threats.

Why not use it for something more modest like steel production or dessalinization plants.

Phoebe Smith yeah, thats one of the main complains about it, but these planes still have enough speed to get out of a fight and would be properly escorted by more maneuravable (and cheaper) aircraft to do the fighting. At least in theory. Its a great plane for certain situations and has technology that would be unobtainable otherwise, so its a nice aircraft to have if not to rely on. The problem is to uphold its promises, because they are having a lot of trouble with that.

Phoebe Smith Yeah, though i suppose a f-35 could still use superior avionics to shrink enemy numbers and have enough mobility to overwhelm the rest but usually it would be the work of f-22s or f-15s.

Tech, probably. And more radar range can be really scary when combined with stealth. Forget dogfights though, there are cheaper and better options for that (gripen ng, f-15, as examples).

It wouldn't surprise me if it was actually easier to fly than current airliners.

The f35 isn't the most advanced aircraft ever made, not anymore, at least. That honor goes to the b21 raider now. ... and you can bet that a f-35 successor is already in the works.

Hydrogen is dangerous as f*ck though.

John Smith i am talking about explosive power though. Its a pressurized flammable gas, just pressure alone makes it way more dangerous than conventional fuel.

John Smith what a prick. Nvm then.
