Political repression(Cultural Revolution) in the subsequent decades killed another 30 million. This estimate may be on the higher end but it’s probably the most accurate statistics we have so far (based on Frank Dikötter’s work)

  28. No one will believe the elections from now on. I will say though that only the people who actually care about the future of their country should vote. If they can't be bothered to leave their home to cast their votes without a plausible justification, they shouldn't be voting. For the sake of honesty, those mail ballots should be investigated further, even if it is just to reassure people of the legitimacy of the election process.
