  1. I mean, if solar panels are cheaper than batteries, it could be a realistic option. I see batteries as the ultimate ev barrier of entry. If you think a tesla is expensive, multiply that sentiment by 10 and you will have a feel for what the third world thinks about it. If we are serious about fighting global warming, we need EVs not only in the US but in China, India, Brazil, Russia, those countries with big populations and low buying power. If we are going to supply those countries with EVs, batteries need to change.
