Here's the thing about Brazil. Our cheapest brand new car takes 4 years of minimal wages to get, that's without factoring interest rates that are also high. BYD cars will probably be the only EVs we will actually be able to afford.

@денисбаженов-щ1б you can blame the people if you want however it is a fact that we have some of the highest taxes with worst returns and a overly complex tax legislation. Personally, I don't think we need more education or social programs. What we need is cheaper energy and logistics, lower rents, less and more transparent taxes so the population can actually afford to develop those fields.

@денисбаженов-щ1б well, you have the usual culprits such as covid, inflation, high(er) levels of debt and so on but something quite unique to us is our bloated tax policy system nicknamed "custo Brasil" (brazilian cost).

@денисбаженов-щ1б So do you want Brazil to innovate so a business overseas can make millions of our technology, how does it benefit Brazilians? Btw, the French minimum wage is about 6 times ours. They can afford their taxes. Second, our middle class is still poor. About the upper middle class, that's mostly the people working for the state, some make it to the top 1%. Third, Steve Jobs and Elon Musk had investors and a decent economic climate in their favor at some point. And last but not least, does it really matter if we pay more or less for energy than Koreans, Germans, British etc, if we have little money for everything else? - Koreans: 5.6x our minimum wage; - Germans: 6.4x - British: 6.9x Do you get my point now?

@claudiomaiasantos we are currently in the process of building HVDC power lines accross the country so we can connect hydro power from the south to the wind power to the northeast. No point in storing energy in batteries if we have dams. Obs.: HVDC stands for High Voltage Direct Current, basically a cheaper way to transport energy across long distances. Obs. 2: by "currently in the process" I mean we are still in the conceptual phase.
