  3.  @Mdude59  or we can increase the depth of the hole. We have a project with plans to drill up to 20km bellow the surface (obviously not with a conventional drill), where earth is hot enough to turn water into a supercritical fluid and raise production output dramatically. Best thing is by digging so deep we can effectively run legacy fossil fuel power plants with steam instead of building new ones. Of course it is all vaporware for now but they should start drilling by next year.
