  1. I think they will just be bigger and focused on long range missiles or saturation strikes, in other words, bigger payloads. You know, like bombers. There will still be a need for high maneuverability aircraft but its development will be more focused on defense of these weapon platforms or in general but this concept is nothing new.

  2. If the f-35's goal was to replace the f-16 it failed spectacularly but I doubt it was their intention. It needs something to cover for its weakness which is low intensity environments.
