The difference is that although the NRA had already been co-opted by gun manufacturers by that time, rightwing talkshow propaganda from the likes of Rush, Coulter, Savage, Fox, etc... had not created their market of followers in order to resist the ban in force.

  2. he apologized and explained the reasoning behind removing the video. What more do you want? As for Fox due the unfortunate media situation we are in with Fox's abysmal track record, any media outlet can just say "at least we aren't as bad as Fox!" and they'd be correct in doing so.

  4. it didn't work? How many mass shootings with assault weapons occurred from 1994-2004? One of the problems though wasn't the criminals but gun manufacturers making post-ban models almost identical to the ones banned. They deliberately sabotaged the efforts for their own gain.

  5. poke holes in the 2nd amendment? Don't be so melodramatic. Banning assault weapons should be a no-brainer. It wasn't much of an issue back in 94 but now coincidentally that we have a black president and a democrat one at that after years of radical rightwing talk radio and Fox suddenly gun advocates act as though the sky is falling and hear gun ban whenever anyone says gun control or regulation. That is straight talk - many gun advocates are unreasonable not too mention irrational
