In the US the elite get off while the rest of us get jailed or killed in the streets by law enforcement officers for misdemeanors. What is the point of following laws anymore?

I don't want to see a bunch of bullet-ridden cats and being told they had a gun on them
25
Hillary fans are disgusting. They claim to be liberal yet they support a candidate who will not take a strong stance against fracking and the death penalty; who has supported a rightwing coup in Honduras and Netanyahu's genocide in Gaza; and makes no assurance of getting money out of politics. Where is the liberalism in supporting this candidate? Then they have the nerve to call Bernie supporters the same as Trump supporters? They aren't far removed as they are supporting her on name recognition as are Trump's supporters. Bernie came from nowhere and got a huge amount of support because of his ideas and his consistent record going back decades. Hillary fans just cannot grasp this.
23
Republicans are starting to think 20+ years of paranoia-fueled rightwing radio rhetoric might not have been a good idea in hindsight when a traveling snake-oil salesman has come along and swiped their base right from under their nose.
21
You got morons screaming for muslims to go home while cheering the bombings of those homes. History (if there is a future to have a history of this time) will not look kindly on Americans of the early 21st Century.
20
too many people are comfortable with the status quo being afraid of actual change
17
The problem I have with Hillary supporters is they have allowed themselves to admit defeat to their principles as they support a fracking-supporting warhawk just to fend off this orange boogieman.
15
yeah a lot of liberals are in that annoying SJW (an alt-right term I generally despise as I prefer the term PC Nazi) camp who fight over silly non-issues rather than more important ones such as our horrendously imperialistic foreign policy
14
all that money and still soldiers and vets get jack shit
12
If she had tried to stop the bleeding by applying pressure as anyone would want to do to save a loved one she would have been shot and killed too by this maniac. If you or someone is shot by a cop they are going to let you or them bleed out.
10
That guy has really probed deep into the aftermath of gay butt sex - was he speaking from experience? And what did he have to do with the RNC? Funny how guys like that are attracted to the RNC in a supportive position.
10
that and our judicial system - it needs poor people to sell cheap goods, cheap liquor and tobacco, to fine then to jail for not paying fines thus getting state&federal funds for housing said prisoners, to sell bail bonds to family members and the whole time justifying the existence and salaries of police, judges, correctional officers, bailbondsman, etc...
10
I like MJ but they've fallen victim to the Hillary supporter syndrome where they can only berate and belittle people thus shooting themselves in the foot. Shitty candidate shitty supporter.
8
Oliver is great at highlighting overlooked issues but his bit on Stein was too partisan hackjob.
8
lol! good point! It always struck me as bit militaristic, fittingly so unlike Bernie's bird
8
The old corrupt guard has got to go along with the wilting cry-wolf flowers who scream "oppression!" at the drop of a hat.
8
A center right politician supporting a center right politician? Say it ain't so, Joe! Another note - I love the Clinton supporters disparaging Bernie saying he's just doing this for his own ego then turn around and use the hashtag #Imwithher without any hint of irony. People aren't with Bernie because he's Bernie. They're with him because of the ideals that they share.
7
Yeah they claim Bernie is doing this for his ego which implies we are following him because he is Bernie Sanders a man most of us didn't know a year ago meanwhile they are using the hashtag #imwithher without a ounce of irony. Cluess dipshits!
7
What is it with cops unloading on suspects? They don't shoot once or even twice but multiple times until the suspect is swiss cheese. Many people if shot once would stop want they are doing because they don't want to get shot again and die. As a temporary measure I think they need to go back to their old revolvers where they had to be more careful with their shots and they couldn't rapid fire like a maniac.
6
no many of these media pundits should be fired for the part they played in this fiasco
6
you took the toilet and made it the basis of an entire culture
5
maybe there will be next summer if they cheat Bernie again. The DNC will find out how much they are disliked.
5
Bernie is currently fighting for Medicare for all while Clinton goes on a book tour blaming everyone but herself. Can there still be real Hillary supporters out there after this?
5
At least the Mafia didn't mind people getting a piece of the action so long as they got their cut. Pablo Escobar funneled his drug money into helping the poor of his country. In the US the legal mafia don't won't to reward people who have worked for them for years. They are so greedy they want the whole pie and won't even leave us the crumbs. Time to grease up the guillotines.
4
Yeah, and Tulsi voted against people's right to protest. To hell with her and Harris.
4
Andrew Cargil huh? Moderate Hillary didn't do very hot in her debates with him. Bernie's thing is stick to policy which is what Trump fears hence everything he does is distraction with bullshit tweets.
4
Women worked on the Manhattan Project. I'm sure there are women construction workers and architects who have built and designed smoke stacks. Women may not have initiated the holocaust but there were ones who took advantage of the situation like Erna Petri who executed Jewish boys who were escaping a concentration camp. Women have worked in the fossil fuel industry and "I don't like Mondays" was about the first school shooter, a girl. Moore did the thing that pisses people off both men and women with a type of feminism that is actually detrimental. On one hand he is blaming all men for these actions while absolving women of them because he acts like the Victorians did that women are innocent creatures incapable of evil who need protecting. He's trying to compensate for past wrongs but going overboard and unwittingly making women less human as precious items set up on a pedestal. And it doesn't help that he did this in supporting Hillary. This election has opened up so many divisions and one of those is in feminism. The older generation feminist and the third wave feminist are largely supporting Hillary because you've got to help out a fellow woman while many of other women are not because they feel Hillary is a terrible candidate her gender not having anything to with anything.
3
pretty much and you will see them ardently defending President Hillary against manufactured rightwing outrage as they ignore her future wars and wallstreet deals
3
wow, some hillary fans have really lost it from their severe cognitive dissonance. They have hitched their wagon to a neo-con who helped to make the US have the highest prison population in the world and they can't face it.
3
Ah, America! Where the corporate-bought politicians steal from you, the police kill you, and the water poisons you.
3
Who'd have thunk it? Seriously I can understand the skepticism but when some of the erstwhile debunkers rushed to Google and checked and didn't find the same results did they not think that if it were true that Google would have just left it the way it was as a big smoking gun? Of course it's going to be fixed and they'll say "I have no idea what you're talking about!"
3
@twokool4skool129 so other countries have nationalized healthcare - were they destroyed by the ruskies?
3
The difference between the Bundys and the Water Protectors is simple - at no point do the Bundys threaten the system. In fact, they unwittingly enable it by wanting to remove those parts of government which keep the corporatists in check. Seizing federal land for private interests is exactly what they corporatist want to do. They'd strip-mine Yellowstone in a heartbeat if they could get away with it so they are in agreement with the selfish ideals of the Bundys. Also they could care less about some desert land or some remote federal facility which was also and ironically on Native American land. On the other hand the water protectors are hindering a multi-billion dollar project and interfering with profit margins and sales projections. Fuck the inevitability of a leak, by that time the principle people will have made their money and moved on leaving others holding the bag while millions will suffer from tainted water. They originally chose Bismarck but decided against because they knew opposition would be too great so in their boardrooms they decided the Native Americans weren't as important as the good (white) people of Bismarck. Also they chose the area because it had fewer people showing they damn well know the potential for an accident is high but they overlook the fact that the lake in question provides water for millions.
2
that's why they did it. The money means nothing to them - deterring people from gathering and impending the system is their ultimate goal.
2
t b so they deserved to be put in dog kennels and be numbered? Go be a fascist toadie elsewhere.
2
The system has figured out that leftists more so than rightwingers are a threat to the system because they attack the profit-generating organizations from defense contractors to oil pipeline builders to exploiters of workers in and outside of the country, etc... Rightwingers are fine so long as they get to keep their guns and you throw a few Bible verses at them but lefties needed to be divided and unfocused hence the bullshit controversies and fearmongering. Look at the Obama presidency. The rightwing did more to enable his administration in pursuing neo-con polices without much liberal protest. How? Because many liberals were distracted by bullshit rightwing outrage and conspiracy theories from birth certificates to secret islamic identity to how he salutes soldiers with a latte in his hand. All of that was distraction and to get liberals to stand behind Obama against the onslaught of rightwing lunacy while ignoring the continual wars in the Middle East. I think the same thing is shaping up with Hillary. If elected, she will face so much Republican opposition and the media is ready to report on that rather than her inevitable expanding of military operations in Syria, Yemen, Iran, and wherever else. We'll have pundits fiercely debating her involvement in Bill Clinton's affairs and there'll be shouts of misogyny from the 3rd wave feminists as the MRAs will be screaming misandry back at them. The more conspiratorial minded will be screaming election fraud. There'll be so many non-issue issues streaming about in the press and on social media which will cause most to overlook how many times our Saudi Arabian allies bomb hospitals and Israeli settlers seize more Palestinian land while US drones mistake weddings and funerals for terrorist gatherings. That stuff will be page 3 news compared to the front page news of the latest Republican outrage and subsequent Democrat response to that outrage over what dress Hillary will have worn at whatever function. This nonsense will keep liberals distracted as they scramble to defend Hillary from rightwing attack after rightwing attack much like they did with Obama. And those few brave progressives who have the nerve to criticize Hillary on her policies will be lumped in the same category as the crazy hate-filled rightwingers and their criticism will dismissed out of hand.
2
It's pretty bad when Obama and even Bernie himself endorses Hillary and her polls are still dismal. Many people just aren't buying it.
2
pretty much because the rich are so myopic in their pursuit of wealth they don't see the car is heading off a cliff
2
The problem is the preposition. It was meant to be called "The War OF not ON Terror" but they decided to run with the latter to see how long people would catch on and you still have people believing we're the good guys.
2
Newsweek had an opinion piece blaming myths of Bernie supporters for costing the election and the reporter saying he wanted to punch a fan for voting Stein. These HRC hacks are too much
2
I don't why the Bundys hate the government since the government is so nice to them. Twice they have pulled guns on authorities and threaten to kill them over trespassing on federal land the last being a hostile anti-government takeover yet the government has done nothing meanwhile BLM and water protectors get beaten, gassed, and arrested by the hundreds. If that doesn't send you a clear message of whom the government favors, nothing will.
2
that's what they wanted you to think. In soviet russia, KGB disband you
2
What the ADL don't understand is that they play into those alt-right people's hands. Get angry at them, they jizz in their pants. Call them racists, they jizz in their pants. Call them a bunch angry kids, they jizz in their pants. Jizz in their pants and they jizz in their pants. Most of them are under 25 with a self-loathing hate everyone mentality with little connection with the real world but it turns them on when they can fuck with the real world and/or get noticed by it.
2
@MrBlitzkrieg1991 And we got a fighter - Bernie Sanders. He's been fighting for decades. Tulsi would be better to drop out and endorse him.
2
need to build up momentum first. If or rather when they screw over Bernie next year that might be the time to move over en masse. Right now it's better to register as a democrat in order to vote in the primary.
2
This was just like when Hillary went to Wallstreet in 2007 and shook her finger at them vigorously - then took their money.
1
returning the back scratching
1
Now her Watch has ended. Best burn her body lest Trump or Clinton resurrect her for a zombie vote.
1
hope you like your frack water
1
Marasma101 Hillary is on record as the first democrat nominee who has accepted more money from the fossil fuel industry than her opponent. I'm sorry but you are the one who is truly deluded. Why when all the evidence is obvious of her neocon Wallstreet ties do you think she will pick liberal justices and not justices who will be sympathetic to corporations over people?
1
It's weird that the president-elect lost by 400K votes buuuuut when you go state by state most states had more people who voted against Hillary. The 400K is primarily from the west coast primarily California. And this should be rubbed into deluded HRC supporters faces - Hillary lost states Obama (and Bernie) won handily. I can't see many of those states going along with California because they have more voters than the rest of the country. Once again, Hillary was just a lousy candidate.
1
The only ones who believe the DNC narrative are the gullible and the ones who want to believe as they voice faux outrage on mainstream media and social media. If anything their pathetic attempt to smear Sanders has gotten more recruits and made supporters even less likely to vote for Hillary if she wins the nomination.
1
Big fan of MST3K from way back in the day and been following Conniff on Twitter for a couple of years. Glad to see a mending of fences here. His story about the HRC benefit around 12:00ish is amazing. His twitter-feed was very pro-Hillary more than I would like but hey! everyone is entitled to their opinion and you can like a person for certain things and disagree with them on others. That said I'm shocked at the HRC campaign people's actions. Conniff's Twitter in 2016 came off as one of the biggest HRC supporters out there so I don't know how they came to that mind-numbingly stupid conclusion. I think it another telling sign of why the DNC lost rather than the GOP won the overall election. The people running the campaign were morons and they lost a benefit deal with a big HRC follower. Madness!

The parties aren't what they used to be. The Republican party of Lincoln which freed the slaves, gave them citizenship, and the right to vote has been overtaken by embittered racists courted away from the Democrat party by the Southern Strategy in the wake of the Civil Rights Act. The same party which produced Teddy Roosevelt and his regulations to create national parks, break up big companies, stop harmful unregulated food production has been hijacked by corporatists who want to overturn a lot of the regulation he set up and would strip mine Yellowstone in a heartbeat. The party of Eisenhower who forced desegregation in schools and warned us of the military industrial complex has been taken over by the aforementioned racists and has become a vehicle for the industrial military complex who pushed Bush into going into Iraq on bullshit premises. The Democrat party which while founded by racist genocidal slave-owning Andrew Jackson was founded in contempt of the banks and in favor of the common man (just at that time meant only white) has been replaced by wallstreet-paid bank-loving corporatists who screw over the common man on behest of their banking bosses. The party of FDR who pushed for progressive reform and helped to create a strong vibrant middle class has been hijacked by neoliberals who want to overturn and have overturn his regulations against Wallstreet and the banks destroying the middle class in the process. The party of JFK who avoided war with Russia and created the Peace Corp to aid developing countries has been taken over by warhawks wanting to heat up the cold war with Russia over leaking their shenanigans and have no problem with the continual bombing of developing nations while their banking wallstreet masters continue to exploit third world labor in sweatshops. Both founding members and later heads of these parties would be aghast at the state of the parties today and overlooking the social issues which are little more than a bone thrown to the followers would probably see little difference as the same neo-con policies which benefit the 1% are being pursued by both parties. A sad state of affairs.

what's interesting is that Scotland is named after the Scots/Gaels tribe who were from Ireland while England comes from Anglo-Land the Anglo-Saxons from northern Germany and Denmark. Much of Wales was made up of the celtic refugees from the Anglo-Saxons and the name "Wales" is derived from Old English. English language itself is a mishmash of old germanic Anglo-Saxon, nordic from the Vikings, and Norman French which also was Viking descended after 1066. British history later became so anglo-sized down the road we forget that England was a bilingual country for nearly 300 years with the top speaking Norman French and the everyone else speaking Old English. Kings like Richard the Lionheart didn't speak a word of English only French and spent most of his 10 year-reign outside of England yet some still naively think him "ye goode English kinge"
1
The Onion is intentionally funny whereas this article is in line with Fox News unintentionally funny with a twist of patheticness. I'm sure the guy was trying to be clever but when you can easily go "hang on, Bernie wasn't running" it makes his attempt to stretch his clever joke excruciatingly unfunny - if you've got to explain the joke... Don't understand why folks like this guy or Kurt Whathisface from Newsweek are indulging in this sycophancy as the Clintons are done and the gravy train has derailed.
1
yeah that bit of friendly rivalry struck me as a bit odd and wrong. Really "Great Britain" was an English drive for unity with them at the head. The Welsh didn't ask to be part of it. They were conquered and cajoled into it, the same with Scotland. Those who didn't go along with it went the way of the highland scots - murdered, imprisoned, or sent off to the colonies. Sure down the line there were political reasons for unification but there's a reason why english not welsh or gaelic is the primary language.
1
no progressives are waking up and pushing the SJWs aside. You conservatives are about to face a whole new animal that won't concede and won't whine for a safe space
1
WWE Dream PPV Match Cards 26 you're barking up the wrong tree. Those safe places jackasses are getting the boot.
1
meanwhile the bundys got electricity and running water and the mail. How on earth in a modern nation are cops able to get away with what they do to leftwing activists? Apparently the OWS lawsuit did little to deter the system because it works to the main goal - deterring those who stand in the way of the system steamroller.
1
Yep, the DNC really picked a champion, didn't they? While it's true she won the popular vote, it's also true many of those votes were simply non-Trump votes rather than enthusiastic Hillary votes. Bernie would not have had the same problem.
1
while I certainly agree America is overly-medicated on many levels but it is not the scapegoat the gun supporters are making it out to be. There's still the fact that guns are so readily available and with people so medicated it's more of a reason to limit their access.
1
ignoring their own blatant rightwing behavior
1
@darqentries make the 1% pay their fair share in taxes like everyone else while reducing our over-bloated military budget and ending our continuous wars
1
@darqentries you, sir, an idiot spouting off dumbass shallow GOP/Libertarian talking points. There is no running out of wealthy to tax because it's not about taking all their money like you idiots seem to think it is. It's about them and corporations paying their fair share like everyone else does.
1
@darqentries like I said shallow talking points with no real substance
1
Ana was right. Tulsi is a faux progressive. She's endorsing Biden an Iraqi War veteran over a non-war voter whose still in the race. How the hell is Biden going to heal the divide? The rightwing hated his administration and his campaign essentially the DNC spat in the face of progressives calling us brown shirts, misogynists, racists, anti-semites. Biden is part of the divide especially the party he represents.
1
It makes their skin crawl because Bernie puts their appointed candidates in a bad light by being consistently on the right side of history unlike their candidates while showing the Democrats as the corporatist center-right hacks that they really are not the champions of the people they pretend to be.
1
Buttigieg is sending them some of his Obama-flavored word salad with extra oozing oil.
1
@MoCa5545 1346 - Introduction of cannons to warfare/Black Death it's all a conspiracy!!!! Moron.
1
Whoa! Whoa! How dare you use facts to criticize a political candidate! How dare you, sir! But seriously, these people are so moronic. Trump fails on policy but he excels in tearing people apart on their lies and spotty records. He's got enough on Warren already he doesn't need to do any dirt digging with foreign leaders. He'll gin up his base by painting her and her supporters as out-of-touch elitists who focus on identity politics then he'll hit her from the Left about her being a former Republican, voting for his military budget, standing to applaud his no-socialism speech, throwing Bernie under the bus for the chance of being Clinton's VP, and of course the NAtive American nonsense. Yeah, great pick there, DNC.
1
Show up as Biden supporters with convertable shirts and signs but this may not work as they'll be suspicious of Biden suddenly having a lot of supporters turn up.
1
We have to remember that Bernie isn't a radical. It's only in the US that he is considered as such because we've drifted so far to the Right politically and economically. It's one reason why we need Bernie to drag us back to a true center so a more left candidate can run and get elected without being seen as so far left to be invisible to the general public.
1
We can argue about what Bernie did wrong and the shit the DNC pulled but it still amazes me how incredibly ignorant the voting public is. I could more understand voting for Buttigieg, Beto, Warren, even Klobuchar but Biden? If Bernie wasn't running, Biden would still be the worst candidate of the whole group on record and in mind but nooooo nostalgia for Obama and fear of a bad orange man motivated ill-informed media-manipulated people to get out and make the worse vote imaginable. DNC was just so desperate to beat Bernie's popularity that after SC they decided they'd put all their eggs in the busted basket that is Biden.
1
You know it must steam them that despite the blackout and the smears that fucking bastard Bernie still draws in the donors and the crowds at his rallies while still having the most followers on social media than all the other candidates they are propping up.
1
I have a feeling Buttigeig will drop out early and support Biden in a bid to bring over identity politics people.
1
@konradx498 sounds like the plot of a bad movie
1
@konradx498 or when we don't want to face reality we spin conspiracy theories
1
So they would have brought africans in chains to the US and then given them guns? Does this idiot not know where slaves came from? It's not like they were all at home in the US and racist white guys showed up one day with guns telling them they were all slaves now. Why do these idiots get serious airtime?
1
