  1. they've created a strawman for them to attack to feel better about themselves and feel stronger. This is why many of them crumble when confronted with real arguments by real people as it often doesn't go according to plan. Or they deliberately pick out those they know will be weak in knowledge like Steven Crowder's "debates" with college students but he ran when Sam Seder showed up.
