  1.  @theolivetree3900  "thus being incorporated into the dogma of the Christian church." No it wasn't. The Catholic Church never accepted this (especially as Lloyd and Ussher were Anglican) nor did other Protestant sects. Even Pat Roberston doesn't buy it.

  2. only a relatively small number of religious people believe that and yet this is one thing constantly brought up as though it were a major issue. Even freaking Pat Robertson doesn't believe the 6k old earth.

  3. the 6th Extinction started long before Fukushima (from our perspective). We have been wiping out species and changing the environment of the Earth for some time now picking up speed in the 19th century with deforestation, poisoning our seas and air, putting out chemicals into the air and water that never had been in atmosphere before.

  4. It may well be that human existence is/was as an extinction agent to prepare the Earth for the next dominant (and hopefully more intelligent) species. We arrogantly think that the coincidences favored us when it may very well be they favor our successors a million or two years from now (a blink in geological time) and we are merely stepping stones to them or like how we use the dinosaurs as warnings, we are used as warnings for their kind not to put greed before common sense and empathy.
