  1. Man, we got a bum deal with our solar system if we only get a run of about 12 billion years in a universe of 120 trillion years. Our earth will barely have had life on it if by a billion years it will be uninhabitable once again. Considering multicellular life did not arise until a mere 600 million years ago and will be gone in a billion that means in the vast life cycle of the planet - 7.9 billion - there would have only been life in multicellular form for less than half of its existence. Yes, single cellular life might clock in at about 5 billion but fuck those guys. In the Fermi Paradox, if we are early to the party of universal life an interstellar intelligent civilization might arise in 50 billion years time and they'll have no idea we even existed as our solar system will be completely dead with the Earth either entirely consumed or a dead husk with all trace of life utterly burned off of it. Maybe they'll bump into Voyager and play our greatest hits if they are in a retro-phase of turntables.
